First Shift will provide two Know Your Rights presentations in partnership with the Alexandria Public Library!

The presentations will give information for pregnant people, parents, and family caregivers. The presentations will explain your rights in the workplace related to family commitments and health needs.

People who attend will learn:

  • What is job protected leave from work?

  • What is FMLA? What is the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA)?

  • What are pregnancy accommodations?

  • What are your rights around pregnancy accommodations?

  • What can you do if you are experiencing workplace injustice due to your familial commitments and health needs?
